At HHH Ranch, we are committed to transforming the lives of children in need through our innovative Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program — Stable Moments. This nationally recognized mentoring initiative is designed to provide healing, hope, and new opportunities for children and youth in foster care or post adoption, ages 3-22.
Healing Through Genuine Connections
Traumatic life events can deeply impact a child's emotional and physical well-being. We know that:
1/4 children will be incarcerated within 2 years of aging out of foster care
80% of our current prisoners in our system have been in foster care
Stable Moments offers a gentle, trauma-informed approach that fosters trust and connection through interactions with horses and tailored activities. Our program helps children build self-esteem, make healthy choices, and develop resilience to navigate life's challenges.
A Proven Program for Lasting Impact
With over 500,000 children in foster care facing significant trauma, the need for personalized mentoring is critical. The Stable Moments® Certification Program trains therapeutic equine professionals to deliver this groundbreaking curriculum, equipping them to foster crucial life skills—self-worth, emotional regulation, responsibility, independence, and healthy relationships—in children.
Personalized Support for Every Child
Each child's journey begins with an intake assessment, where program staff work closely with guardians to understand their history, strengths, interests, and challenges. This information shapes an individualized, color-coded plan of care, targeting specific goals to promote growth and success.
Tracking Progress and Achieving Goals
Progress is monitored through pre- and post-assessments and detailed activity logs, ensuring each child's growth is measurable. Our comprehensive, trauma-informed approach helps children build resilience and thrive despite their past hardships.
Mentorship Built on Connection
Participants are paired with dedicated mentors for a year-round program. Mentors and children co-design each session, incorporating activities—both equine and non-equine—that align with the child’s unique plan of care. These engaging activities help children develop vital life skills in a supportive environment.
